Disclaimer
What Mini Accounts is, what it is not, and whose names are whose.
Not professional advice
Mini Accounts is software. It records your entries and works figures out from them. Nothing it shows, and nothing on this website, is legal, tax, accounting, payroll or financial advice, and using it does not make us your accountant or adviser. The software is not an accountancy service. For advice about your own position, speak to a qualified professional.
You file, and you remain responsible
- Mini Accounts prepares figures, statements, returns and payroll documents for you to check. It does not file anything, pay any tax, or send anything to HMRC, Companies House or a pension provider.
- You, or your accountant, check every figure against your records, the law and HMRC’s guidance before filing or paying, and you remain responsible for every return, payment, statement and payslip.
- Payroll. Mini Accounts applies HMRC’s published rates and thresholds for the 2026-27 and 2025-26 tax years and works each pay run out from the record you keep. The figures are for the employer, or the practice as its agent, to check before anyone is paid and before anything is filed. The FPS and EPS figures it gives you are sent to HMRC through HMRC’s Basic PAYE Tools or other RTI software, never by Mini Accounts.
- Tax rates, forms, rules and due dates change. The deadlines the app shows are reminders worked out from the details you give it, with the rule shown; confirm each one before relying on it.
- The app reads bank statements and supplier invoices from a PDF. A statement row is used only when the running balance proves it, and an invoice’s lines only when they add up, but a document can still be misread: check what was read before you rely on it.
Not recognised by HMRC, and not connected with any public body
Mini Accounts is not recognised by HM Revenue & Customs for Real Time Information or for Making Tax Digital, and does not claim to be. It is not connected with, approved by or endorsed by HM Revenue & Customs, Companies House, The Pensions Regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office, or any other public body, and it is not connected with or endorsed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, ICAS, Chartered Accountants Ireland, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Association of Accounting Technicians or any other professional body. Where this website links to their services, it is for your convenience; their names, services and marks belong to them. Its maker is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, which is said plainly where he is named.
Other software names
Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, NEST, The People’s Pension and other product names that may appear on this website are trade marks of their owners. They are used only to identify those products. Mini Accounts is not connected with, or endorsed by, any of them.
Books that cannot be opened
Where a password is set, your books are encrypted with a key made from it on your own device, and we never have that password or that key. If you lose both the password and your recovery code, the books cannot be opened or recovered, by you or by us. Keep your recovery code safe, and keep your own backup.
Limitation of liability
Mini Accounts is provided as it is. We are not liable for interest, late fees or penalties charged because a return, a payment or a payroll was wrong or late, for loss of profit or business, or for books that cannot be opened or were not backed up. Otherwise our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the event the claim is about. None of this excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else the law does not allow to be excluded, or takes away your rights as a consumer. Section 12 of the Terms of Service is the full statement.
